Washington Redskins sign John Potter, waive Pat White

The Washington Redskins sign kicker John Potter as cover for Kai Forbath, who sustained a groin injury during practice earlier this week.

The Washington Redskins have signed free agent kicker John Potter ahead of their game against the Green Bay Packers today.

Kai Forbarth has been listed as questionable for the game, having sustained a groin strain during practice earlier this week.

Potter, who spent last season with the Buffalo Bills, had been on the Redskins' roster during the summer, but was waived before the end of the team's training camp.

To make room for a second kicker on their roster, the NFC East side released quarterback Pat White, leaving them with three passers on their active list.
