Robert Griffin III happy with limited read option

Robert Griffin III is happy to go with Jay Gruden's playbook, even if it means not running the read option as frequently.

Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III has admitted that he would be happy if head coach Jay Gruden decides to only use the read option sparingly in 2014.

Griffin, who ran the play many times in his rookie 2012 season, said that there is plenty more to his game even if he was brought up using it frequently.

"It's Coach's decision," he told NFL.com. "Last year we ran it a lot. If he wants to use a sprinkle, a dash, whatever he decides, that's his take, and I'm all for it.

"I know guys like myself have used that attack our whole careers, so it's part of our game. At the same time, it's not like we live and die by it."

Griffin completed 60.1% of his passes last season,
