The Redskins went in front with 7:40 on the clock in the first quarter after Kai Forbath converted a 45-yard field goal.

Head coach Jay Gruden was hit with an injury blow shortly afterwards as wide receiver DeSean Jackson came off for the hosts after suffering an apparent hamstring injury while attempting to catch a Kirk Cousins pass.

Cousins himself was then picked by Dolphins cornerback Brent Grimes, but made up for the setback by finding tight end Jordan Reed in the endzone for a touchdown late in the second quarter.

The Skins looked set to go into the break with a two-score lead, but Rishard Matthews was found by Ryan Tannehill to get the Dolphins off the mark for a 10-7 half-time score.

FedEx Field saw its score counter come to a standstill in the third quarter with no endzone action, but a field goal from Andrew Franks drew the Dolphins level in the fourth from 22 yards.

Dolphins receiver Landry boosted his side shortly afterwards with an impressive 69-yard punt return touchdown, and Franks secured the extra point to finish his side's turnaround for victory.
