Azerbaijan athlete Olga Senyuk has insisted that she does hold a chance of progressing past Danish favourite Maja Jager in the women's individual archery at the European Games.
Senyuk edged out Simona Bancila in the last-32 elimination round at the Tofiq Bahramov Stadium in Baku on Friday, but has now been drawn to face world number one Jager in the next stage of the competition.
"She's so confident, she's the world champion, she's training with the best coaches in Korea," Senyuk told reporters of her upcoming opponent.
"But she is human just like me and nobody will give up. I can hit 10 like she can. I respect her so much and I really hope I will enjoy the match."
Azerbaijan currently occupy second place in the medals table, with Russia leading in top spot.
