Belarusian archer Anton Prilepov has said that the quality of competitors at the European Games means that he can never be sure of a victory.
Prilepov had to produce some memorable last-gasp shooting to secure progress past the number 915 seed Sigurjon Atli Sigurdsson in the men's eliminations rounds at the Tofiq Bahramov Stadium.
"Here everyone is strong. In my career I saw more than once the archer who came number 64 in the ranking round winning over the top-ranked," Prilepov told reporters after his close win.
"When I stepped on to the field of play, I could not be sure, but you need to trust in yourself and trust in your ability to win.
"I always tell myself, 'To be sure of victory can be your biggest weakness'."
The Russian Federation currently lead the way at the top of the medals table.
