British 800m runner Lynsey Sharp said today that she has been confirmed as the European champion.
Sharp finished second to Russia's Yelena Arzhakova almost a year ago in Helsinki but Arzhakova was banned for doping at the end of April this year.
European Athletics has now changed its records to show that Sharp won the race.
The 22-year-old posted a link to the governing body's revised timesheet on her Twitter account and wrote: "It's official now, the results have been changed!
"Eventually I can change my Twitter bio. Feels good."
Sharp's Twitter profile now reads: "European champion and Olympic semi-finalist."
She could now be presented with the medal at a home event later this year.
