Kyle Langford has been pipped to gold in the men's 800m final at the Commonwealth Games.
The 22-year-old came from the back of the pack to challenge Kenya's Wycliffe Kinyamal as the finish line approached, but he was forced to settle for silver despite registering a PB of 1:45.16.
Kinyamal was indeed the champion, finishing five-hundredths of a second ahead of Langford, while Australia's Luke Mathews took bronze with a time of 1:45.60.
Defending champion Nijel Amos had a race to forget, meanwhile, coming in last place with a time of 1:48.45.
Scotland's Jake Wightman was in contention for a medal but had to settle for fourth, finishing 0.22 seconds back from Mathews.
