Two Brits into women's 100m final

Ashleigh Nelson is one of two Brits to make it through to the women's 100m final at the European Championships in Zurich.

Great Britain's Ashleigh Nelson has qualified for the women's 100m final at the European Championships in Zurich.

Following a lengthy delay to the start of the evening session because of strong winds, Nelson eventually won her heat with a time of 11.23s.

Teammate Desiree Henry also made it into the final thanks to a second-place finish in the next race.

However, Asha Philip missed out on the chance to win a medal after narrowly losing out in the final heat. The Brit was pipped to a place in the final by France's Celine Distel-Bonnet, who made it through by less than than a hundredth of a second.
