David Rudisha: 'I am back on track'

Olympic 800m champion David Rudisha believes that he is back on track after recovering from an injury that hindered his preparations for the World Athletics Championships.

David Rudisha has indicated that he expects a strong performance in the 800m at the Diamond League meeting in Lausanne on Thursday evening.

The Olympic champion suffered a thigh problem in Ostrava earlier this year, but after returning in New York last month, the Kenyan is looking to find his form ahead of the World Athletics Championships in Beijing.

The 26-year-old told SuperSport: "My injury is gone and all is good to reach about one minute 43 seconds.

"My main aim for 2015 is the World Championships in Beijing and see what I can do there. Since 2012, with all my disappointment and injuries, it has been difficult to get preparation and training. I was not finishing training well, sometimes at about 70%, and this also reflects on my competitions.

"So, it is a good way to test different tactics, but now I am in good shape and I am strong, so I will start strong and finish strong."

Rudisha missed the 2013 World Championships in Moscow through injury.
