William Sharman wins silver in 110m hurdles at the European Championships

Great Britian and England hurdler William Sharman follows up his Commonwealth silver with another at the European Championship.

Great Britain's William Sharman has claimed a silver medal after finishing second in tonight's 110m hurdles final at the European Championships in Zurich.

The 29-year-old followed up his Commonwealth silver with yet another after clocking a time of 13.27s to pip third-placed Dimitri Bascou of France on 13.28s.

Sharman seemed destined for the gold at one point, but errors on two of the final four hurdles slowed his momentum and allowed Russia's Sergey Shubenkov to snatch first on the podium with 13.18s.

Britain was due to have two representatives in tonight's final, but Lawrence Clarke pulled out of the race with injury.
