Louise Hazel has revealed that she was pleased to end day one of the heptathlon at the London Olympics on a high note.
The British athlete struggled during the opening three events, before going on to win her heat in the 200m.
Having ended day one positively, the 26-year-old has switched her concentration to being more consistent in tomorrow's three remaining events.
"It's always nice to go out on a high," she told BBC Sport. "I just wanted to show that I was fighter and could come back from setbacks.
"I've got more events to go and I can prove myself."
Hazel won gold at the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
