Great Britain's Andrew Turners wins heat six of the men's 110m hurdles at the Olympic Games.

Team GB's Andrew Turner won his 110m hurdles heat at the London Olympics this morning.

The 31-year-old took full advantage of three of his fellow competitors failing to clear all of the barriers, clocking a time of 13.47s in the process.

However, the main talking point of the race was the failure of 2004 Olympic champion Liu Xiang to go beyond the first hurdle.

Reports had been suggesting that the Chinese athlete was suffering with an Achilles injury. That speculation was proved to be correct when he failed to get any lift on his opening approach, before falling to the ground and clutching his right heal.

Selim Nurudeen and Gregory Sedoc also qualified for the semi-finals.
