Katarina Johnson-Thompson: 'No underestimating Jessica Ennis-Hill on her return'

Johnson-Thompson 'won't underestimate' Ennis-Hill

Great Britain's Katarina Johnson-Thompson does not believe that Jessica Ennis-Hill will struggle when she returns to competitive action for the first time in two-and-a-half years in May.

The Olympic heptathlon champion is due to go head to head with compatriot Johnson-Thompson at the Hypo Meeting at Gotzis in Austria in five months' time.

The 29-year-old has been away from athletics due to injury and to have her son Reggie, who was born in July last year.

In an interview with The Guardian, Johnson-Thompson said: "I would never underestimate Jess. If she's going to come back she's going to come back proper. I'll just do what I normally do before any event and that's prepare myself and focus on what I've got to do. That's the best way to get results."

Johnson-Thompson is the reigning champion at Gotzis.
