The British Olympic Association has recruited eight greats of the Games to help inspire athletes competing at Rio 2016.
The Olympic Greats programme will involve the athletes acting as mentors to those preparing for the Games, while fans can also get involved via the 'Bring on the Great' campaign.
The eight Olympians, who have won 27 Olympic medals between them, are Sir Chris Hoy, Anthony Joshua, Sir Steve Redgrave, Rebecca Adlington, Denise Lewis, Sir Ben Ainslie, Sarah Stevenson and Beth Tweddle.
"Right now Team GB athletes are hard at work, training day in day out to ensure that they are the best that they can possibly be in Rio next year," said Hoy in a statement.
"With just one year to go until the Rio 2016 Olympic Games it is not just about the athletes aiming for Olympic glory, we have a role to play, we need to start showing our support right now. I know how much of a major part the support of the public can play to spur you on to achieve your goals."
The Olympians will also provide advice to the athletes' friends and family.
