Great Britain's Kadeena Cox has set her sights on creating history by becoming the first Brit to win medals in two different sports at one Paralympic Games for 28 years.
Cox completed the first part of her potential rare double with a bronze medal in the women's 100m T38 final at the Olympic Stadium this evening, and will now turn her attention to the velodrome on Saturday.
The 25-year-old will compete in the time trial alongside compatriot and 12-time Paralympic gold medallist Sarah Storey, but she is confident of emulating Isabel Barr's achievement from 1988.
"There are always going to be big challenges. [Saturday] I've got the Chinese girls and I've got Sarah Storey, who's obviously just gone top of the gold medal list. It's going to be a great competition but I'm in great shape, I'm definitely going a lot quicker than what I was at the World Champs when I did my world record. So fingers crossed I can execute a great race and do what I know I can do," she told Sports Mole.
"It was important for me to do - I've kind of battled back in my last two years and if it wasn't for the Lord giving me strength to come back I wouldn't have been able to do it. I just want to kind of go out and show people that with things against you, and being given a diagnosis like I was or having setbacks, you can still battle back and achieve great things.
"Doing the two medals in two sports, it kind of stands out and it's going to put me up so that other people can see that and they can see what things can be achieved. That was the plan."
Cox who has recently been reclassified in both athletics and cycling, is also competing in the 400m on the track and the cycling road race.
