Jo Pavey: 'Emotions all over the place over possible medal'

British 10,000m runner Jo Pavey admits that her emotions are "all over the place" after it emerged that she could receive a bronze medal for the 2007 World Championships.

Jo Pavey has thanked fans for their support after it emerged that she may be upgraded to third place for the 10,000m at the 2007 World Athletics Championships.

On Thursday, it emerged that Elvan Abeylegesse, who won silver in Osaka, was under investigation regarding possible doping, meaning that a guilty verdict would result in Pavey being promoted up to the bronze-medal position.

However, given the eight-year gap between the race and the retesting of 28 samples taken between 2005 and 2007, Pavey has indicated that the revelations about Abeylegesse are bittersweet.

Pavey has previously won medals at the Commonwealth Games and European Championships, but as of yet, not on the world stage.
