Lynsey Sharp breezes into 800m final

Lynsey Sharp breezes into the women's 800m final at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing as the 25-year-old bids to make up for lost time.

Great Britain runner Lynsey Sharp has qualified for the women's 800m at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing by finishing second in her heat this morning.

The 25-year-old Scot safely progressed by producing a season-best time of 1:58.98 as she looks to settle a score in this competition.

Two years in Moscow, Sharp had to watch on from the sidelines after injury had ruled her out of the tournament and briefly stifled her burgeoning career.

Marina Arzamasova of Belarus won the heat with a time of 1:58.69, while South African Caster Semanya finished third.
