Andy Vernon has reignited his feud with former GB teammate Mo Farah following the latter's retention of his 10,000m world title in Beijing at the weekend.
The duo became embroiled in a number of hostile Twitter exchanges over the past 12 months, with Farah labelling his compatriot an "embarrassment" earlier in the year.
Vernon was not selected for the World Championship, and the 29-year-old hints that his former colleague instigated the snub due to the animosity.
He wrote on Twitter: "Well done on your medal @Mo_Farah Great to hear you love to represent your country. Thank you for stopping me do the same. Good luck for 5K."
Vernon had reached one of the two qualification times, but British Athletics performance director Neil Black says that his omission was unrelated to Farah.
"We did not believe it was the correct decision to select Andy. That [personality clash] had absolutely nothing to do with it," he is quoted as saying by The Mirror.
Farah will also defend his 5,000m title later in the competition.
