Derrick Rose plays down fears over "minor" hamstring injury

Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose claims that the hamstring injury he sustained in the win over the Toronto Raptors is only a minor problem.

Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose has claimed that the hamstring injury he picked up in the victory over the Toronto Raptors is unlikely to keep him on the sidelines for an extended spell.

The 2011 MVP, who has already missed games this season with injuries to both ankles, was forced to finish the night on the bench, but he remains optimistic that he will be fit to play against the Indiana Pacers on Saturday.

"I think it's minor," Rose, who scored 20 points in 30 minutes at the Air Canada Centre, told reporters.

"I just overstepped. I probably stretched out a little bit more with my left leg and I probably got a cramp in it."

"We were up a decent amount of points at that time. I kind of didn't force it, I listened to the staff and sat out."

Rose is averaging 17.8 points and 5.8 assists per game this season.
