NBA roundup: Miami Heat, Dallas Mavericks, Indiana Pacers clinch wins

Sports Mole rounds up all the action from Saturday night's games in the NBA.

A late three-pointer from Chris Bosh prevented the Miami Heat from being beaten for the second time in as many games.

The defending NBA champions, who were without LeBron James because of injury, were two points down against the Portland Trail Blazers with 0.5 seconds left to play, but Bosh made the shot to finish with a season-high 37.

The Dallas Mavericks coasted to an easy win over the Chicago Bulls, beating their opponents by 22 points.

Monta Ellis helped the visitors open up an early lead as Dallas surged 32 points ahead before the Bulls pulled it back with a strong finish.

The Indiana Pacers had to defend hard to secure a win over the Brooklyn Nets.

The Pacers shot well in the first half, but led by just two points at the break, before restricting the Nets to 35 points in the second half.

The Toronto Raptors got off to a quick start to ensure a comfortable win over the New York Knicks.

Kyle Lowry scored a season-high 32 points, while the Canadian side's defensive play ensured that the Knicks had too much to do after the break.

Blake Griffin led the Los Angeles Clippers to a victory over the Utah Jazz.

The power forward finished the game with 40 points as the Clippers continued their strong home form this season.

The Atlanta Hawks edged past the Charlotte Bobcats in overtime to leave them with five wins from their last six games.

The in-form hosts had to come from behind in the fourth quarter, before Lou Williams led the Hawks in overtime, adding 10 of his 28 points in the extra period.

The Phoenix Suns kept pressing throughout to force their way past the Philadelphia 76ers.

Miles Plumlee scored a career-high 22 points, despite having to go off to have seven stitches to a cut on his chin during the third quarter.

A dominant first half set the Detroit Pistons up for a thrashing of the Washington Wizards.

John Wall and Bradley Beal ensured that the visitors got off to a quick start, leading by 21 points at the end of the second quarter.

A late surge helped the Houston Rockets seal a win over the New Orleans Pelicans.

The teams were closely matched for the first three quarters, with the Rockets taking a single-point lead into the last 12 minutes, but James Harden and Jeremy Lin made sure that the home side finished the game off in the fourth.

The Boston Celtics survived a fourth-quarter comeback from the Cleveland Cavaliers to register a narrow win.

The home side outscored the Celtics 34-18 in the final 12 minutes, but Brandon Bass made a late block to stop Dion Waiters from adding the points which would have sent the game to overtime.

The Minnesota Timberwolves made it back-to-back wins are they sealed victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. The visitors looked the stronger side from the start, with Kevin Love proving too much for the Bucks, finishing the game with 33 points and 15 rebounds.

The Memphis Grizzlies dominated the second half to clinch a win over the Denver Nuggets. With little between the two teams in the first half, Zach Randolph led the way as the home side opened up a sizable lead late on.
