The Cleveland Cavaliers traded for JR Smith and Iman Shumpert in a three-team deal on Monday night involving the New York Knicks and Oklahoma City Thunder.
As part of the deal, Dion Waiters moved to the Thunder, Smith and Shumpert move to Cleveland while the Knicks receive three players with non-guaranteed contracts in Alex Kirk, Lou Amundson and Lance Thomas.
In addition, the Thunder sent a protected future first-round Draft pick to the Cavs while Cleveland are sending their 2019 second-round pick to the Knicks.
"We're very excited to welcome Iman and JR to Cleveland," Cavaliers general manager David Griffin told the media.
"With their size and versatility, we think both Iman and JR can help our team on both ends of the court, and we look forward to them joining us."
Meanwhile, OKC star Kevin Durant welcomed the arrival of Waiters and he believes that he will settle in well at the franchise.
