The Dallas Mavericks will lose centre Monta Ellis this summer, after he opted against taking the player option for the final year of his contract.
The 29-year-old joined from the Milwaukee Bucks in 2013 and averages 19 points per game in 162 games for the team.
However, he has told the Mavericks that he will reject the chance to earn £5.5m in the final year of his deal and become a free agent on July 1.
His agent, Jeff Fried, told reporters that the decision "wasn't about Dallas as much as it was about what's best for Monta".
Rajon Rondo and Tyson Chandler will also leave the team this summer.
