Timofey Mozgov has said that he is "excited" to have an opportunity with the Denver Nuggets.
The center signed a contract extension with the team during the off-season following the departure of Kosta Koufos.
The 27-year-old told the team's official website: "I'm excited. It is an opportunity. I have to be prepared. We changed coaches, so it's a different situation. We'll see in practice.
"I feel like I needed to skip [the Eurobasket tournament] because I need a good season. It's an important season for me. I don't want to be so tired like last season [following the Olympics].
"I was not ready. It was hard, but it's what I need. It's good for my body, good for my mind."
Mozgov has a career average of 3.9 points per game.
