Los Angeles Lakers veteran point guard Steve Nash has injured his back carrying bags in his latest setback, according to the franchise.
The 40-year-old missed practice for a third consecutive day, with coach Byron Scott revealing that the team is still gathering information on the injury.
"It's a concern because, from my standpoint, I've got to kind of figure out if he's going to be able to play every day or not, if he's going to be able to play every other game, or which games can he play," Scott said, ESPN reports.
"Obviously, in the next couple of weeks, we've got some time to come to a conclusion to this whole situation."
Nash, who played in just 15 games last season, is expected to miss the exhibition game against the Utah Jazz on Thursday night.
Scott hinted that Jeremy Lin could start at point guard in Nash's absence, with the Lakers' injury curse continuing after they had a league-high 319 combined games of players missing through injuries last season.
