Talks between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Cleveland Cavaliers about a trade involving Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum have stalled.
Cleveland have until January 7 to trade Bynum before his contract becomes guaranteed and it loses its instant value in a trade.
It is understood that the Lakers are holding out for either an additional player or a first-round Draft pick as part of the deal, according to ESPN.
However, they are also looking to get out of luxury tax to help with future flexibility as they target free agents this summer.
