NBA roundup: Cleveland Cavaliers, San Antonio Spurs win

Sports Mole rounds up all the action from Tuesday's games in the NBA.

The Cleveland Cavaliers recovered from a slow start to ease to a win over the Dallas Mavericks, giving the team their 12th win in 13 outings.

The hosts were ahead after the first quarter, but LeBron James soon handed the Cavaliers the lead, scoring from 10 of his 14 shots to finish with 27 points.

The four-time MVP also became the franchise's all-time assists leader during the contest, taking the record off Mark Price.

The San Antonio Spurs picked up their sixth straight win after holding off a second-half comeback from the Toronto Raptors.

The NBA champions opened up a 26-point lead, led by Kawhi Leonard, but Kyle Lowry gave the Canadian side some hope, before Tony Parker made sure of the victory for the Spurs.

The Indiana Pacers made it six victories in a row as they cruised to a win over the Orlando Magic at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

The Magic were just ahead at the end of the first quarter, but Rodney Stuckey ensured that the hosts soon pulled ahead, finishing the game with a season-high 34.

A strong second-half performance allowed the Los Angeles Lakers to pick up their first win in six games as they beat the Detroit Pistons.

The Pistons had a narrow lead after the first two quarters, but Jordan Hill led the Lakers' comeback as the hosts scored the first eight points after the restart to take the lead.

The New York Knicks allowed the Utah Jazz to edge ahead late on at the EnergySolutions Arena, leaving the visitors on a five-game losing streak.

The Knicks appeared to be heading for a rare win when they took the lead early in the fourth quarter, but Rodney Hood and Derrick Favors both made late baskets for the hosts to give the Jazz the win.

The New Orleans Pelicans extended their winning run to three games as they eased past the Brooklyn Nets, leaving them just outside the playoff places in the Western Conference.

The Pelicans started to open up a commanding lead in the second quarter, splitting the shooting duties with six players finishing in double points, and the Nets never looked like getting back into it.

Results in full: Orlando Magic 86-118 Indiana Pacers, New Orleans Pelicans 111-91 Brooklyn Nets, Cleveland Cavaliers 127-94 Dallas Mavericks, Toronto Raptors 107-117 San Antonio Spurs, New York Knicks 82-87 Utah Jazz, Detroit Pistons 85-93 Los Angeles Lakers
