The Charlotte Hornets have traded Matt Barnes to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for veteran point guard Luke Ridnour.
Barnes has been with the Hornets for just a week following the trade which took Lance Stephenson to the Los Angeles Clippers, and they have also moved quickly to trade Ridnour, too.
The 34-year-old and a 2016 second-round Draft pick were immediately sent to the Oklahoma City Thunder for the guard.
Less than a third of Barnes's salary is guaranteed if the Grizzlies decide to waive him in the next week, but Memphis are expected to keep the small forward to improve their defensive options.
Barnes averaged 10.1 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists while starting 74 games for the Clippers in 2014-15.
