The Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks have reportedly joined the race to sign free agent JaVale McGee.
McGee will clear waivers on Wednesday after the Philadelphia 76ers decided to buy the 27-year-old out of his contract on Sunday night to ensure that the center would be available to appear for another team in the playoffs.
The decision came after the Sixers acquired him via a trade with the Denver Nuggets last month.
According to ESPN, Miami and Dallas will both attempt to bring in McGee to boost their respective post-season bids, but they could face competition from Western Conference leaders Golden State Warriors.
McGee has averaged 4.6 points and 2.7 rebounds per game this season.
