The Minnesota Timberwolves have been given permission to speak to Memphis Grizzlies coach Dave Joerger regarding their coaching vacancy.
Rick Adelman announced his retirement at the end of the 2013-14 NBA season after three seasons with the team.
ESPN says that the Timberwolves have been granted permission to talk to the coach, who is believed to be keen to leave Memphis following the departure of the general manager and chief executive earlier this week.
It was reported earlier this week that Grizzlies owner Robert Pera came close to firing Joerger early in the season following a poor run from the team, who went on to reach the playoffs.
