The Orlando Magic have announced that former Milwaukee Bucks and Chicago Bulls coach Scott Skiles has been appointed as their new coach.
The 51-year-old spent time with the team during his playing career, setting the NBA's single-game assist record of 30 during his five-year spell as a point guard in Orlando.
General manager Rob Hennigan said in a statement: "Scott clearly distinguished himself as a tremendous fit. Our young roster will benefit greatly from Scott's extensive head coaching experience and commitment to teaching smart, physical, unselfish basketball.
"We believe in Scott's ability to establish a culture of winning habits and accountability that will help guide our team in a positive direction."
Jacque Vaughn was fired midway through the 2014-15 season, with James Borrego taking charge on an interim basis for the remainder of the campaign.
