Evan Fournier reportedly rejected the offer of a four-year contract extension from the Orlando Magic last month.
The swingman will become a restricted free agent next summer, and his early-season average of 19.2 points per game on 45% shooting means that he could be targeted by a number of teams looking to boost their offensive options.
According to Yahoo Sport, the Magic were keen to tie him down to a new deal before the November 2 deadline but a $32m (£21m) deal was not enough to convince Fournier to avoid free agency.
Orlando will have the right to match any offer Fournier receives to ensure that the Frenchman does not leave the team when free agents can officially sign contracts in July.
