The Chicago Bulls needed a strong finish to make sure of a win over the Toronto Raptors at the Air Canada Centre.

The home side headed into the fourth quarter with a five-point advantage, but Jimmy Butler made sure that the Bulls played their best basketball of the game in the final 12 minutes, as they outscored the Raptors 39-21 to take the lead late on.

The Cleveland Cavaliers picked up their eighth win in nine games as they thrashed the Memphis Grizzlies at FedEx Forum.

Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving and LeBron James each scored more than 20 points as the visitors opened up a commanding 29-point lead by the end of the third quarter, maintaining the gap as their starters were rested throughout the fourth.

The Indiana Pacers needed a late basket from George Hill to secure a narrow victory over the Washington Wizards, giving them their first win in seven games.

The Brooklyn Nets held off the Charlotte Hornets to pick up their fifth win in their last seven outings.

Brook Lopez led the scoring with 34 as the Nets pulled ahead in the third quarter, before Gerald Henderson missed what would have been a game-tying three-pointer in the final seconds.

The Phoenix Suns' hopes of catching the Thunder for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference were dealt a blow as they slipped to defeat to the Sacramento Kings.

DeMarcus Cousins led the charge for the visitors, scoring 24 to lead the Kings, who cannot reach the post-season, to a fourth win in a row.

The Los Angeles Lakers made it two wins from their last three games with a narrow win in overtime against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
