Gregg Popovich hails 'crazy' record-breaking half in game three of NBA playoff final

San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich hails his side's performance as they break an NBA Finals record, having defeated the Miami Heat in game three of the playoff final.

San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich has hailed his side's performance as they broke an NBA Finals record, having defeated the Miami Heat in game three of the playoff final.

The record-breaking Spurs managed to shoot 75.8% from the field in the first half, with forward Kawhi Leonard also impressing with a career-high 29 points on the night.

"I don't think we'll shoot 76% in a half ever again. That's crazy," Popovich revealed to reporters after the encounter at the American Airlines Arena.

The Spurs will now have the chance to push ahead with their lead when game four gets underway in Florida on Thursday evening.
