Great Britain suffer third beach volleyball defeat

British pairing Chris Gregory and Jake Sheaf fall to a straight-sets defeat to Estonia to finish bottom of Group G at the European Games.

Great Britain have ended their European Games beach volleyball campaign with a straight-sets defeat to Estonia in Group G.

After losing to both Austria and Spain, Chris Gregory and Jake Sheaf had been hoping to end on a high, and it appeared as though they would move closer to the win when taking a 19-16 lead in the first set.

However, they conceded five successive points to allow Estonia duo Kristo Kollo and Rivo Vesik to move ahead, which in turn gave them the momentum at the start of the second.

Team GB soon found themselves facing a five-point deficit and that remained the case throughout the set as Estonia wrapped up a 2-0 win by scores of 21-19 and 21-15.
