Muhammad Ali has paid tribute to one of his greatest boxing rivals Joe Frazier, who died of liver cancer last night.
The 67-year-old former heavyweight champion, who fell out with Ali during his career, had been suffering with the disease for some time.
"The world has lost a great champion," said Ali. "I will always remember Joe with respect and admiration. My sympathy goes out to his family and loved ones."
WBC champion Vitali Klitschko also offered his condolences to the family of Frazier, telling BBC Radio 5 Live: "He was a huge fighter, huge champion and a huge personality.
"I didn't have a chance to meet him personally, but I heard about him and that's why he is always in the memory of the next generation of great fighters."
Former world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis claimed that the news of Frazier's death was a "very sad day for boxing".
The American's career lasted from 1965 until 1976.
