Kell Brook has acknowledged that WBO super-welterweight champion Saul Alvarez could be a potential opponent when he returns to the ring in 2017.
With an operation on a broken eye socket scheduled for Friday, Brook is expected to be sidelined for the next few months but he is keen to feature in another high-profile fight after losing out to Gennady Golovkin earlier this month
The 30-year-old told Sky Sports News: "I need to get back training and see if I could make 147lbs healthily - that's also a possibility because I'm a world champion at 147lbs.
"I'd love that fight with Canelo. I just want to be in those big fights. I had a taste with the Golovkin fight and the attention around it is exciting for a fighter to be in.
Alvarez won his world title with a ninth-round stoppage of Liam Smith on Saturday night.
