British super-middleweight James DeGale has challenged Carl Froch to fight him or "vacate the title".
The 28-year-old, who rose to prominence with gold at the 2008 Olympic Games in London, recorded a third-round stoppage against Marco Antonio Periban last night to set up a IBF super-middleweight title shot.
"I like Carl but it feels like he doesn't want to fight me," DeGale told Sky Sports News. "I respect him but I think he's being a bit of a coward not fighting me - fight me or vacate the title."
Froch later responded to the comments, saying: "Boxing is a business, I have a promoter and if the fight makes financial sense, it will happen. I want to fight in Las Vegas and if anyone has the right to pick and choose where they fight, it's me."
Elsewhere at Liverpool's Echo Arena last night, George Groves stopped Denis Douglin in seven rounds, while Tony Bellew got the better of Nathan Cleverly in the main event.
