British super-middleweight James DeGale has revealed that promoter Mick Hennessy has promised him a chance to fight for a world title in his next two fights.
DeGale is ranked highly in each of the five organisations but he has yet to compete for world honours, and the former Olympic champion has admitted that he hopes his promoter secures him an opportunity in 2014.
The 27-year-old told BBC Sport: "I don't want to tread water, I need to box for a world title in my next two fights after this one.
"Mick has promised that he's going to deliver and it's his job to deliver. No pressure, Mick, but it's up to you."
DeGale faces American Dyah Davis in his 18th professional fight on Saturday evening.
