Carl Froch took the unusual step of proposing to his long-term girlfriend Rachael Cordingley only moments after he knocked out George Groves in their world title rematch at Wembley Stadium on Saturday night.
After an explosive finish to the fight, which saw the Nottingham boxer floor Groves with a single right hand, Froch said that post-fight was a perfect time to pop the question to Rachael.
He was quoted by BBC Sport as saying: "I told her how much I love her. I didn't officially propose - I couldn't sort the ring out. But I will be marrying her.
"Tonight will be remembered for defending my titles but I did ask Rachael a sneaky question. It's not official. She said yes."
In defeating Groves, Froch made the 13th successful world title defence of his career.
