Tyson Fury insists that he is in no rush to face either of the Klitschko brothers.

Tyson Fury has claimed that he is in no hurry to have his shot at a world heavyweight title.

Fury is hoping to extend his 18-fight unbeaten run when he faces American Vinny Maddalone in Clevedon, Somerset tonight.

The Mancunian fighter's incredible rise has seen him mentioned in world title discussions, with many believing he is close to a clash with one of the Klitschko brothers. Vitali and Wladimir Klitschko hold all the major belts in the world between them, but Fury insists that he is in no rush to get in the ring with them just yet.

The 24-year-old said: "I won't sell myself down the river for a couple of hundred grand. "I'm no-one's fool. I don't want to just put up a fight and wobble one of the Klitschkos.

"I want to come home with the world title. I'll just bide my time and carry on the way I am. I don't see the reason to rush into such a clash when I clearly have time on my hands.

"I think I will get a world title shot later next year. In boxing you've got to wait and keep busy – I've been active while waiting in the wings. By December I should be mandatory for the WBC title. Now that would be something to go for. As I have said, I am not rushing."

Fury, who turned professional in 2008, fights for the WBO Intercontinental title tonight.
