Martin Gethin withdraws from Anthony Crolla fight

Martin Gethin's British title defence against Anthony Crolla on November 23 is cancelled after the champion suffered an ear injury in training.

British lightweight champion Martin Gethin has withdrawn from next week's clash with Anthony Crolla with an ear injury.

The bout had been scheduled to feature on the undercard of the world super-middleweight title clash between Carl Froch and George Groves, which will take place on November 23 at the Phones4U Arena.

However, promoter Frank Warren has revealed on Twitter that the fight had been shelved because of the problem picked up by the Walsall boxer in training.

English super-middleweight Callum Smith will also be missing in Manchester after suffering a hand problem.
