Promoter Ricky Hatton has insisted that Martin Murray will not just be "making up the numbers" when he faces Sergio Martinez on Saturday night.
Murray has travelled to Argentina to compete for the the Ring and WBC middleweight belts, and Hatton believes that Murray is facing the 38-year-old at the right time.
The former welterweight champion told Manchester Evening News: "At the press conference in Argentina, he wasn't in awe, he wasn't there just to make up the numbers. I've not seen any fear in Martin's eyes.
"Every champion's reign has to come to an end some time. They get beat by a young gun who's hungry and wants it that bit more. It happened with Kostya Tszyu, it happened with me, it happens with all of us.
"It's all about timing and I think this'll be the right fight at the right time for Martin."
Murray is unbeaten in 26 bouts, while Martinez has won 50 of his 54 professional fights.
