Promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed that he is currently in negotiations over a potential showdown between Kell Brook and Amir Khan.
The long-time rivals have verbally gone back and forth for several years but the two teams have never been able to agree terms for the British super-fight.
However, Hearn has said that the showdown has a "good chance" of happening this summer, with Brook's IBF title expected to be on the line.
Hearn told BBC Sport: "There's a good chance of it happening. Amir wants it to happen, so does Kell. We want to put a fight on for the fans."
Brook is currently obligated to face mandatory challenger Errol Spence but the status of that fight is currently unknown, with Brook previously indicating that the American would be his next opponent.
Khan also has options at 147lbs, with the Olympic silver medallist in line to face the winner of the unification clash between Danny Garcia and Keith Thurman should a meeting with Brook fall through.
