Floyd Mayweather Snr: 'My son should quit after Manny Pacquiao fight'

Floyd Mayweather Jr's father calls for his son to quit boxing after the clash with Manny Pacquiao on May 2.

Floyd Mayweather Jr's father has called for his son to quit boxing after his fight with Manny Pacquiao next week.

The unbeaten American clashes with the Filipino at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in a fight that could set a new pay-per-view buy-rate record for the sport, and Floyd Snr wants his undefeated boy to retire after the bout.

He told The Telegraph: "I hope that Floyd gets out the game at the right time. This is a gambler's game and I don't think Floyd should be gambling too much.

"Once you reach that pedigree and make that kind of money, you don't have to fight no more. I hope he walks away after this fight.

"Whenever you get in that ring, anything can happen. It looks easy but it ain't as easy as it looks. He makes it look easy."

Mayweather Jr has backed himself to emerge victorious in Vegas on May 2.
