British boxer Rendall Munroe has announced that he will no longer compete in the ring following his defeat to Scott Quigg last month.
The 32-year-old has decided to hang up his gloves after failing to clinch the WBA interim super-bantamweight title but has insisted that he is "proud" of his career.
"I'm always positive and forward-thinking and I've had a great career," Munroe told BBC East Midlands. "I am 100% proud of what I have done. I was English, Commonwealth, European and WBA international champion and a world title contender."
Munroe's defeat to Quigg was the third loss of his career, which boasted a run of 27 unbeaten bouts until last month.
