Scott Quigg's WBA super bantamweight title fight with Yoandris Salinas has been rescheduled for October 5 following the cancellation of next week's show in Manchester.
The 24-year-old, who is champion on paper, was due to fight on the undercard to the British heavyweight showdown between David Haye and Tyson Fury.
Speaking at the Olympia in Liverpool, Matchroom Sport promoter Eddie Hearn told Sky Sports News that the Bury fighter will not see his training go to waste.
"It's been a busy day," said Hearn. "We looked at all options and all roads led to the O2 Arena, where we believe Scott will be crowned world champion.
Over the moon to have my WBA world title fight rescheduled topping a great bill at the O2 just a week later thanks to @EddieHearn. #0ct5th
