Billy Joe Saunders injury causes second delay to Andy Lee world title bout

An injury to Billy Joe Saunders results in his contest with WBO middleweight champion Andy Lee being delayed for a second time.

The WBO middleweight title fight between Andy Lee and Billy Joe Saunders has been delayed for a second time.

Last month, the bout was switched from September 19 in Limerick to a bumper card in Manchester on October 10 after Lee contracted a virus.

However, Saunders, the mandatory challenger, has suffered a cut in training, meaning that the encounter will now be moved to another card later in 2015.

Lee has won 34 of his 37 matches as a professional, while Saunders, who earned his mandatory status by beating Chris Eubank Jr last year, is unbeaten in 22 outings.
