Northern Ireland boxer Steven Donnelly has moved into the semi-finals of the -69kg class of the Commonwealth Games after defeating Canada's Custio Clayton tonight.
The Ballymena-born fighter powered past his Canadian counterpart with a 3-0 victory in his last-eight encounter to guarantee himself a medal.
Donnelly's triumph marks Northern Ireland's ninth medal at the Games thus far, with no fewer than eight of those coming in the ring.
Earlier tonight, Paddy Barnes joined Michael Conlan, Michaela Walsh, Alanna Audley-Murphy, Joe Fitzpatrick, Sean Duffy and Sean McGlinchy in moving into the last-four stage of their respective categories.
