Adrien Broner has recorded a points victory over Emmanuel Taylor at the US Bank Arena in Cincinnati.
The American is attempting to rebuild his reputation after several unconvincing performances, and while he was awarded a unanimous verdict against Taylor, his display in Ohio may result in fresh criticism.
After a slow start, Broner began to find a rhythm but he was not having it his own way against and opponent who had yet to be stopped in his 20-fight career.
Taylor was arguably level with the three-weight world champion at the midway point, but Broner took control in the second half of the fight as he knocked down Taylor with a left hook in the final three minutes.
Broner could not secure the stoppage, but he won by scores of 115-112, 116-111 and 116-111 before calling out Lucas Matthysse regarding a fight that could potentially happen at the start of 2015.
Matthysse recorded a second-round knockout against the previously unbeaten Roberto Ortiz, and he too revealed his desire to agree a deal to fight Broner.
