Jamie McDonnell has set up a meeting with Tomoki Kameda in Las Vegas next year after Javier Chacon pulled out of this evening's fight in the 10th round through injury.
The Argentine boxer, who was drafted in to replace Walberto Ramos, did well to restrict his opponent before suddenly withdrawing from the contest due to a problem with his shoulder.
McDonnell could not impose himself on the fight, and it looked set to be a tight finish in what was his first defence of the WBA bantamweight crown, until the undercard bout was brought to an end.
Kameda and McDonnell will now meet in the United States next year.
